PS3 Delayed

Sony Sony Sony. What are you doing? Delaying the PS3 Japanese release until the fall? Are you crazy? I know that you'll probably have the most powerful hardware out there and you'll most likely have some of the biggest console exclusive titles around, but you're just pushing your luck. You're getting cocky, Sony. You're letting this whole "We were #1 in the two previous generation's console wars" title convince you that you're invincible in the marketplace.

The X-Box 360 is already out, Sony. And yes, their initial grouping of games is notably lackluster. But they're not going to keep it that way forever. Even the original X-Box had some big-name exclusives, Sony. Knights of the Old Republic? Splinter Cell? Fight Night: Round Three just came out and it's good. It's real good.

Plus, even Nintendo might launch before you do. And, to be honest, I'm more excited about the Revolution than the 360 and PS3 combined. I know that Nintendo rarely gets any third party exclusives and that the Revolution isn't going to be the groundbreaking powerhouse of the bunch. But it's going to have some awesome first-party games. And you're going to be able to download games from the previous generation of Nintendo systems. Plus, the whole gyroscopic controller sounds pretty cool. Some say it's a gimmick, but many said the same about the DS and it's one of the most popular systems (especially in Japan). You can't even say that about the PSP.

So, Sony, get your act together. I know that I won't be buying a PS3 for many years no matter when you launch. I know you're going to price the PS3 far beyond what I'm willing to pay and that kind of makes me sad. But, for goodness sakes, Sony, you're launching a year after the 360. *sigh* Oh well.
